GIRLS

Valley View 41

Lindsay 38

The Valley View Lady Eagles didn't have their leading scorer Tuesday in their game against Lindsay, but they had her little sister.

With Jasmyn Studamire out for medical reasons, Jade Studamire stepped up and scored 26 points to lead Valley View to a 41-38 win over Lindsay in a District 12-2A battle.

Lindsay led 32-29 going into the final period and still had a lead late in the game, but Studamire hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minutes to help the Lady Eagles to the win.

Dailee Elvington also had a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 6 points, Lynzee Rollins and Mia Sutherland each added 3 and Andee Renfro had 2.

For Lindsay, Allison Hedrick scored 16, Rachel Hutcherson added 8, Kyla Metzler and Maggie Krahl both scored 5, and Skylar Tatum added 4.

Muenster 54

Poolville 33

The Muenster Lady Hornets improved to 28-4 overall and 6-1 in district with a 54-33 home win over Poolville Tuesday.

Muenster used a strong second quarter to start to pull away, outscoring the Monarchs 13-5 to take a 30-18 halftime lead.

Annie Anderle nailed six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points, Kaitlin Hennigan added 14, Martie McCoy had 13, and Kaley Berkley scored 5.

Era 45

Alvord 27

The Era Lady Hornets stayed tied for first place in District 11-2A with a 45-27 road win at Alvord Tuesday.

Era is 6-1 in district, which keeps them even with Muenster. Era has a bye on Friday before wrapping up the regular season at home on Feb. 11 against Poolville.

Aubrey 63

Gainesville 34

After a strong start, the Gainesville Lady Leopards fell behind and couldn't recover in a 63-34 loss to Aubrey.

MeMe Davis led Gainesville with 16 points.


BOYS

Lindsay 34

Valley View 31

It wasn't pretty, but Lindsay was able to escape with a 34-31 road win at Valley View Tuesday.

The win keeps Lindsay undefeated in District 12-2A with a 6-0 record. Valley View falls to 3-3 in district.

The game didn't feature much offense. Each team only scored 3 points in the third period. But Lindsay went 6 of 10 from the free throw line in the fourth period to get the win.

Seth Foster led Lindsay with 13 points, Clinton Wallace added 7, Tyler Yancey scored 6, Jack Popp had 5 and Braxton Craigie added 3.

For Valley View, Bryan Avalos had 14, River Callihan scored 11, and Jordan Brewer, Colby Lewis and Luis Morales each added 2.

Muenster 48

Poolville 37

Bryson Culwell scored 24 points to lead Muenster to a 48-37 win over Poolville on Senior Night.

The game was tied 12-12 at halftime as the Hornets only hit 3 field goals in the first half.

Danny Luttmer added 14 points, Major Eldridge scored 7 and Garrett Hess had 3.

Muenster has now won 69 district games in a row.

Aubrey 55

Gainesville 46

The Gainesville Leopards had a 15-12 at the end of the first period and played great defense throughout, but Aubrey was able to escape with a 55-46 win Tuesday.

Noah Ridge led the Leopard charge offensively with 16 points, hitting two big-time 3’s in the four quarter to keep the game close. Traylen Shinault added 10 points, while Bubby Hardin scored 9.

Ponder 65

Callisburg 49

The Callisburg Wildcats dropped a road game against one of the district's top teams Tuesday, falling at Ponder 65-49.
